Motorcyclist Injured after Hit and Run Accident East of Downtown Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS (December 10, 2018) – A motorcyclist was left injured after a hit and run accident that occurred east of downtown Colorado Springs.

Colorado Springs Police are looking for the driver of a mid-sized GMC truck, who was involved in a hit and run accident on Monday night.

Around 5:20 pm, the driver of the truck hit the motorcyclist and fled the scene. The motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Academy approaching Bijou. The driver of the GMC was beginning to make a left-hand turn when the collision took place.

The motorcyclist sustained significant injuries and was taken to the hospital. Later, the empty GMC was found a few blocks away from the accident. Police are still looking for the driver.
