I have been bitten by a dog. How do I get my medical bills paid? Can I get compensation for my injuries.

| Personal Injury Articles

In most cases, the owner of the dog that bit you would be responsible for your medical bills, provided you did not provoke or have a negligent role in the dog bite. If the owner of the dog is covered by a homeowners insurance policy or a renter’s policy, then there may also be medical payment insurance coverage to help pay for your medical bills.

Depending on the circumstances of the dog bite, the owner may also be responsible for compensating you for your personal injuries, which could include any scarring, pain and suffering, lost wages, emotional distress, and other damages. Again, if the owner of the dog is covered under a homeowners insurance policy or a renters insurance policy, then that insurance coverage may be available to compensate you for those damages and injuries.
