M+M Teams Up With Uber To Offer Free Rides To Ronald McDonald House Guests

COLORADO SPRINGS – November 23, 2015 — For families of critically ill, hospitalized children, holidays can be especially tough. Helping ease their burdens, McCormick & Murphy has teamed up with Uber, offering free rides for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

Many families staying at the Ronald McDonald House arrive via Flight for Life. Free Uber rides reduce transportation barriers and provide some normalcy in an often unknown city. Travelling great distances to be with their seriously ill children, families staying at the House can use these Uber rides as needed – to get to and from the airport, hospital/s and doctors appointments, in addition to allowing parents the ability to shop, eat, see a movie, or grab a coffee during the holiday season.

We are so appreciative of the effort that McCormick & Murphy has put into this program. Our families have so many other things to worry about, so this is one less stress for them. The firm’s generosity will make the holidays better for many of our folks!” – Heather Brewer, House Assistant at the Ronald McDonald House

Program Details

About the Ronald McDonald House of Southern Colorado

The Ronald McDonald House exists for the simple yet poignant fact: according to studies, when a child is hospitalized, the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed. Family centered care helps seriously-ill children and their families heal faster and cope better. Built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest, for the past 28 years, the Ronald McDonald House has provided the gifts of togetherness for over 9,000 families from southern Colorado, northern New Mexico, western Kansas and beyond.
